Abstract
The article considers peculiarities of training specialists in market conditions. The role and place of professional competence in a young specialist’s career development is substantiated. The need for practice-oriented training in new industries and abroad is proved. The importance of forming motivation for career development in ensuring the competitiveness of a university graduate is underlined.
